ibrian was so bold to ask a couple of questions on the official BBS!

• Are there any guest musicians on the new Heart Album?
Management: If there are or are not – I would rather not tell as I believe there are many mongers who would rather be “surprised” so I’ll keep my lip zipped on that one.

• Is a new version of “Sand” still being considered for the new Album?
Management: Yes

• Are they being courted by any labels or will they go independent again?
Management: There is label interest and there is always that possibility they’ll go indie again. It’s really up to them and what the majors bring to the table for any consideration on which direction.

• What chance is there that the new Album will be released on Nancy’s birthday? It falls on a Tuesday, the traditional new release day in the US! What better day to release it?!
Management: That will most likely not happen as we would’ve had a label and marketing team on by now to support a March release.

The Hook: What can we see from Heart in the future?
NW: We hope to have an album that gets on the map in the fall– there’s going to be a bit of a different, stylistic thing happening. We’ll blend more of my vocals in with Ann’s to create a similar, yet newer sound, with more harmonies and me singing lead.

The Hook: As such an iconic female musician, do you feel fulfilled?
NW: I feel completely fulfilled. That’s why we became a rock band– for the uplifting, inspiring gift of music.

New Heart album has producer: Ben Mink

Hope & Glory

Heart management just released the wonderful news that, although the recording proces has been paused until October 2009 due to the tour, the producer of the new Heart studio album will be Ben Mink. Ben Mink is the producer of Ann Wilson’s solo effort of 2007: Hope & Glory. Ben Mink is best known for his work with kd lang.

Ann and Nancy will lock themselves up for yet another record!

Heart Management has revealed yesterday that the band will officially go in the studio in 2 weeks. Good luck catching that magical Heart sound! We all look forward to hearing the result!

Band hits studio early 2009

From their publisher in a press release:

´The band will hit the studio in early 2009 to record their 14th album´.

´And Heart are gearing up to mark the 30th anniversary of their classic double-platinum album Dog & Butterfly in 2009 with special events and celebrations´.

From management on the official BBS: So far they’ve written five songs – which i have not heard. Producer is not attached yet.

And from Nancy herself on her journal: We are busy writing for the new studio Heart album and start recording in about 5 weeks.
