Heartmongers: get a referee shirt while you can

Touchdown!

Touchdown!

This exciting new item was just posted on the official messageboard by Heart’s management.

It brought back great memories, so I immediately grabbed me one in the online official store. Even though I promised myself to keep it easy the coming months and not spend too much on luxury! So if you want one as well, be quick ‘cos we don’t know how limited the quantities are and when they run out.

Good luck getting this soon to be collectable and make sure you wear it at every Heart show you are fortunate to be at.

We are pleased to announce that the “Touch Down” shirt is available (in limited quantities) in the store

For those of you that don’t know the inside joke. … During the song “Alone” Ann sings a swelling note after the bridge, and when the note is completed, the entire stage crew puts their arms in the air like the ref’s do, to signal a touch down in football.
Last summer, Deen Castronvo and Ross Vallory of JOURNEY – along with a dear friend and crew member of Cheap Trick (Chris – “Rock of Love”- Mc Guire) got on stage behind Ann wearing referee jerseys and signaled touchdown – at the Greek Theater (Heart, Journey and Cheap Trick). It was a very funny moment.
This summer you can show your appreciation to Ann by signaling touch down after the note is held (the entire way). Magic Man and I might have to run a few touch down clinics to show you exactly how its done.
These jerseys are a bit pricey – but that is due to the fact that they are REAL referee uniforms. These items are exclusive to the online store and will not be sold on the road.
See you on the road this summer!!

I was there! I remember this so clearly. We had already left the audience, as Heart had finished, and were sitting in front of the The Greek, when suddenly an Angel named S. whispered that we should return to our seats! A special surprise was to be expected! Thanx so much for that!

# 2. Cheap Trick, Heart and Journey, Aug. 30, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, Bethel — Arnel Pineda, the diminutive 40-year-old new lead singer for Journey, goes from small-club cover-band singer to rock-star frontman, dazzling a sold-out, season-ending crowd of 15,000. But Heart made a case for headline status, with Ann Wilson leading her older sister Nancy through their mega-hits. The night began with Cheap Trick rocking the stirring early crowd with late-1970s/early ’80s hits. Lead singer Robin Zander wooed and comical guitarist Rick Nielsen changed instruments more than Cher changes outfits. Link to article

Journey with Heart and Cheap Trick at state fair grandstand, Aug. 23: New singer Arnel Pinada breathed a whole new life into classic rock band Journey. His vocals were a dead ringer for the biggest-name lead singer, Steve Perry, and the sold-out crowd gobbled up every note of “Open Arms,” “Don’t Stop Believing” and more.

Heart, with the powerhouse vocals of Ann Wilson, turned in a headliner-worthy set as her covers of The Who’s “Love Reign O’er Me” and Led Zeppelin’s “Goin’ to California” scintillated. The antics of Rick Nielsen and Robin Zander in opener Cheap Trick were fun, too.
