ANN ALWAYS LOOK SO DELICIOUS IN HER PUBLICITY SHOTS!! SHE’S SO DOWN TO EARTH TOO!!
Louise on September 28th, 2006
That’s the jacket she wore on Decades Live Concert – it’s beautiful. Look at the detail on the buttons . . . She and Nancy looked tasteful and classy on that night – appropriate for a televised retrospective . . .
MR. Pulse on October 12th, 2006
Ann has and always will be the most beautiful person in the world. The world places a lot of attention on looks. Do we ever look inside of the person? We dont have to because Ann lets all of the inside out….with her beautiful music. I have grown up with Ann and Nancy. I don’t know them personally (but I want to) but they will always be a part of me. I love you ladies. Ann, you are truly the Queen Vixen of Rock!!!
Patricia on April 3rd, 2007
They’re just like fine wine… they keep getting better and, well, gorgeous-er…

so good to thank the sisters all over again. They are a far better long term investment than i might’ve ever guessed as recently as ‘95 or so. They truly do Rawwk on! God Speed and God Bless to Nancy & Ann!

after recently viewing the rock&roll hall of fame inductee ceremonies for years,i would say that someone is missing the big picture on the Wilson sisters incredible talent. What exactly is their criteria on tallent? some inductees live performances have been sub-par.

I hope the ladies can see this. I am so happy you were on the VH1 show! I usually dont want these shows. However, when I saw you were going to be honored and perform.
You two have always rocked everything you put into a mike. Regardless of gender age or location.
I am a 33 year old man and have always loved your songs and have been moved by the passionate lyrics and rythms.
You are American legends and it is nice to see you honored as such. You are both beautiful in so mnay ways.

Hi, Since I enjoyed so many live performances on the internet between the ‘99 acoustic duo Ann and Nancy’s ground-breaking tour [!] available on mediaevents.com – to youTube vintage performances of the original line-up, I thought I should BUY Ann’s CD, because how long can these wonderful live events be available? So I did the pre-order.
It arrived in a bubble wrap envelope with the Rounder catalog, and a separate insert with Ann’s signature in big silver magic marker! and the CD still secure-wrapped with the plastic pull. It’s hard to fathom Ann signed . . . 1700 of those? Wow! Nice presentation, lovely photos, lyrics, and introduction on the liner notes. It’s so nice I ordered one for my cousins without the signed liner notes, because there’s no more.
Here’s the photo – TDHS, would you post?

Thanx!

Another concept album ?
Wasn’t Jupiters Darling supposed to be this great “concept” album ? It WAS a concept/story album, but is was so extremely cryptic I doubt that many people got it. It started out with “Make Me”, that begged the guy to fully commit or break it off completely. Then it ended with “Hello Moonglow” that begged the guy not to leave. Now, that there is the true mark of a commitmentphobe relationship. Can you say, COMPLETELY DISFUNCTIONAL ! –The doctor said “Come back again next week, I think that you need me.” All she did was cry. She wanted to die, “Doctor when can you see me?” There’s a guy out there.
Jenny S. on October 23rd, 2007
I couldn’t wait for Hearts new album in 2008, so I went to the local fortune teller and asked her to gaze into her crystal ball. She saw the album and told me all about it. This is what she saw:
Sorry, folks. The album didn’t come out in 2008. It was delayed, until September, 2009.
The name of the album is “K(no)w Love”.
There are ten new songs. The first two were based on the old Heart song, Crazy on You.
These are the songs by title, with a short description.
“Forever Never Moment”: The song is based on the lyric line, “So afraid of one who’s so afraid of you”.
“Broken Willow”: This song is based on the willow and stream story in the last 4 lines of Crazy on You. It ends with the lyric line, “My tallest branch is broken, but now my leaves mingle in the flow”.
“Oceans of Tibet”: This song is about sailing a boat on a secret hidden sea.
“Field of Broken Arrows”: This is an anti-war song, using the story of an ancient battlefield, now covered deep with soil.
“Morning Rays and Rainbows”: This is an ‘out-of-the-mold’ Heart song, that idealizes a love without and beyond heartache.
“Sand Dunes in the Sea”: Everyone believes this song is about tripping on LSD. But, it is really about the reminiscing of a very first love.
“Promise to an Angel”: Absolutely, nobody understands the dis-jointed lyrics of this song. But every time Ann sings this song, Nancy gets tears in her eyes.
“December’s Heart”: This song is about love’s unaccomplished goals.
“Two Ends of Time”: Clocks and watches don’t work right, in this song.
“Ancient Road”: The neverending road of humanity’s search for love.
The album ends with Ann repeating the phrase, “Reach and believe”, until her voice fades to nothing.
—That was fun! Byeeeeeeeeeeeee, Jenny

Hey TDHS, I know you were there… :-)
Remember me? I don’t know what took me so long to post that…
Sara on November 29th, 2007
I think you’re right that the album will come out in 2009. If their 2008 Tour is already filling in now, when can they possibly record an album?
Sara on December 5th, 2007
Hi Jenni:
I went to MY fortune teller and he gave me the lyrics to one of your Heart songs!
TWO ENDS OF TIME
To see into the future,
You must look into the past,
But then the present’s wasted,
Believing time itself can last.
Every moment’s infinite,
And forever soon will pass.
When the two become the one,
The ends of time will clash.
Time, time, time, time,
What’s become of us?
I finally have to strongly ask,
What’s become of us?
I’m waiting for your answer,
I’ll wait ‘til time dissolves.
I’m waiting for your answer,
What’s become of us?
What is this endless waiting for?
What’s become of us?
I’ll wait ‘til time exists no more.
What’s become of us?
What has become of us, my love?
What has become of us?
Louise on January 4th, 2008
Ahhh! That is lovely! Thanx for the headsup on the new song.

(Can I play, too ?)
I found a hidden Bonus Track on the CD. If you click on the cute little Cupid, you get this song.
Message in the Rain
The skies are turning cloudy,
As she strives for ancient pain.
(“I love the deep, deep storm,” she said.)
But this woman looks so lonely,
Standing in the rain.
She stood there, without motion,
Her face into the wind.
(“I love the breathing storm,” she said.)
Lightning flashed its ghastly white,
With thunder closing in.
Guarding ghosts called to the girl,
“Come in out of the danger.”
(“I love the calling storm,” she said.)
The window’s watch was safe inside,
But kept her from the stranger.
A dry rain is falling, silently screaming
Unspoken sounds of pain.
(“I love the wailing storm,” she said.)
The odd part was,
She refused to drink the water,
From the cup left out in the rain.

I hope Nancy’s comments get a lot of press.

Rock on Nancy! People need to understand that by McCain using this song, it IMPLIES that Heart support the party and their agenda…which clearly they don’t. Ann and Nancy have every right to demand a cease and desist.
TDHS on September 5th, 2008
@ MRL: I think fans would respect the band´s wishes when it comes to their songs, even when they don´t agree with those wishes. It´s their call, not yours. Deal with it.
Ronnie on September 5th, 2008
Ann and Nancy have the right to believe what they want, this is America. They have a right to saw how their music is used. Just because you disagree with them on their beliefs doesn’t mean they are bad people or their music still shouldn’t be listened to. Heart has to take stand and I am with them on this one.

Wow, I came home from work and tried to get on the Heart boards and they were closed. Now I know why. When you hear Barracuda being played You think of Heart. When it’s played at the RNC you think Heart supports the Republican Party and everything that goes with that. They had every right to ask them to cease and desist. Stay strong ladies. Sending lots of love to the camp. I do have one comment for Mr. L. You can KISS MY LIBERAL ASS!!! Have a great evening.

Saw Heart last night here in Toronto. They were incredible. The sold out crowd of about 17,000 went wild when they walked out on stage and just kept going wild through the whole set. Ann and nancy looked really happy to be here and smiled a lot. They sounded amazing….my seats (through the fan club) were awesome. We were right up front.
Amazing show. Amazing women!

I am 53 and have always loved these women and I just love their music. One day perhaps I will have the honor to meet them in person. The closest I came to that was in 1995 in Tampa. Thank you ladies for so many memories and for your music.

Jane on September 7th, 2008
It’s really sad that unless you agree you are outcasted. You (heatlinker) and every other heart fan have been no better in your bashings and selfish slants. I love Heart, but I do not agree with their political stand. Ewww does that make me baaaddd. Sure, they had every right to ask any and all parties to not play their song publicly but when they want to make a political stand, they get whats coming because everyone else has a stand as well. And they have a right to it and to express it just as Nancy and Ann did. Ann’s solo cd was SO political!! PLEASE!! Kind of sad but I tried to look beyond her personal views (that she was trying to push on me with her music) and just enjoy the music for what I got out of it and not her suble message. I love Heart but have a horrible disgusting ball in the pit of my stomach not only for all the horrible things that are being said about Ann and Nancy (from those that oppose) but from everyone of you (the fans). No one of you are being any more respectful, on the other side, I see it in your one sided posts. If I went on the fan club and said I diagree or on Ms. Tralwinds new bbs, I would forever be flamed, shut out, and torn down, no better than what you all are accusing the republicans are doing. I see it on the bbs when it isn’t even political. I am real sad over EVERYONES behavior. But it is a presidential race between color and sex now. Because, Obama has NO background and is completely unfit to handle a country by his experience, or lack of. Something the “democrats” are trying to blam Palin for, kind of funny she has more than him, don’t you think? A vice-president has more background than a possible president. I find that very concerning if nothing else.
Well, good luck Heart. I wonder if this will get posted here? Well, it’s your site and you have every right to kick it out, I wouldn’t be suprised you do though. It seems as if anyone disagree’s you are bumping them out. The best to you heartlinker.
Brett on September 7th, 2008
All I have to say is Ann and Nancy are the best…period. I completely back them 100 percent…It’s their song, and I think the way it was being used made it seem as though they were endorsing Sarah Palin, and the republican campaign…but that all aside i cant wait for the new bootlegs to start appearing…can you imagine how hot barracuda is going to be played after this?! Ann, and Nancy are going to be playing with some “fire in their eyes”, and its just so going to totally rock…WAHOO! rock on ann and nancy!
TDHS on September 7th, 2008
@Jane
The core of your message shows respect and tolerance for Ann & Nancy’s choice to confront Palin. You have some critique towards them, but you are not bashing. Congratulations! That means you get published. If you read my comments and posts closely, you know that’s all I asked. Now you also know why 99% of the other posts of republican fans had to be deleted. I respect your choice that you willingly choose to side with that bunch of extremists. What you say about Obama: use your vote wisely. If you think the Reps did a good job these past 8 years, you should vote for them.
Andrew N. on September 7th, 2008

I read the journal entry you referred to above. In it Nancy says, “Gamble everything for love.” Now, that seems a tad extreme. Would you gamble your honor for love? Would you rob a bank? Would you gamble your sanity for love? We need some clarification, here, before following this advise.
I think Nancy was a little over-enthusiastic the day she wrote that. Certainly she has some limits. Actually, the Heart lyrics, “Why can’t I break out? Why won’t he reach out?”, seem to suggest the opposite view. Hmm! Make up your mind, girl!

I came to a conclusion today, I am deprese., I need to get back to the old me that was happy. Back in the day, before losing the house, getting divorice and having two daughters now (one brunett one blond) I listened to heart all the time and was happy. So I will cure my depression and start rocking out with my heart CDs loud AND long to restart my lifes journey again. Just add a little heart and things will get better! Maybe Ann & Nancy will come out with a song about the rotten politicians. I can’t wait till Heart comes to town again & a new album, I saw them in California, Las vegas in the late 80’s (Jumped on stage with them, I was a pro wrestler on TV in Vegas for G.L.O.W.) and last time I saw them was in Vancouver, Washington (We followed them to portland and got autographs after the show, it was great!) She really is the core personality of Heart, isn’t she? When you listen to Nancy’s contribution to Heart, it’s fun to guess what kind of music she likes to listen to. Here are some unexpected songs I would guess she likes:
Witchita Lineman, Glen Campbell;
Holding Back the Years, Simply Red;
Love is Blue, Paul Mariat;
Year of the Cat, Al Stewart;
Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, Traffic;
The Only Living Boy in New York, Simon and Garfunkel.
What are YOUR guesses of unexpected songs? Are we right, Nancy?

So many Heart songs are “invitation” songs. Not sure who or to what these songs are directed toward. Wait for an Answer is one of those songs. And How about RSVP? Even the most recent CD, Jupiters Darling, has several “invitation” songs. And so is the outake song, Fireflies and Stars such a song. What gives with these songs? Who or what is being invited? Speculations?

Ann’s the baddest vocalist in Classic Rock and still young comparatively speaking, and they are working on getting the hiss back in the mic, something all dynamic singers need to start their offbeat improv, considered primal motion aka Bad Animals.

Oh Nancy. That’s really all that needs to be said isn’t it. :D
bri on August 31st, 2009
they do look great, but what is that on ann’s wrist?
Rob Johnson on August 31st, 2009
My wife and I went to the Houston show and it was awesome. My only disapointment was that Ann and Nancy would not sign my CD cover after the show. We waited for 2 hours after the show and there was only 8 of us outside waiting. They walked by us and waved and kept on going. They then were in their buses for over 10 minutes before they pulled out while remained standing there. For the time they waited they could have signed everyone’s items and been gone. Very rude!
TDHS on August 31st, 2009
Oh too bad. They don’t do that a lot. Mostly in official meet and greets. On the otjer hand it’s not something they HAVE to do, so the word “rude” would not be my choice.
Curious George on September 2nd, 2009
Rob:
Put yourself in Hearts’ place. Take a look at their grueling schedule for August and September. By now they’re getting tired and dis-oriented. They may easily make an occational poor judgement, or just not have the energy to engage every fan’s personal need. The needs of the many fans to hear a good performance, comes before wearing themselves out for special personal treatment to benefit just a few extra fans. Can’t expect them to hug every fan after every performance. But I’d LOVE a hug if I could get one!

Heart is the best live band on the map. Their studio work is also incredible. I hope we get the best of both worlds; the new record, and as many live concerts they can fit into their 2010 schedule.
Greg S on November 18th, 2009
I saw you in Houston at the Arena Theater and it was the best concert I have seen in 10 years. Please make another stop in Houston in 2010 and make it at the Arena again. The concert was so much better there than at the Woodlands when you toured with Journey.

Here’s one that’ll cause you to stop and think. There’s an old song I came across called “The Very Thought of You” that was made famous years ago by Billy Holiday. It’s been done by countless other artist as well and was also recorded ironically by a famous jazz singer named Nancy Wilson. In my own opinion I believe that Ms. Wilson has the best rendition to date, but … while listening to it I thought, “I bet Ann could make this tune just pop!” It would be interesting to hear what Ann & Nancy think about this.

I'm Bored By... on January 20th, 2010
I was bored by this, and I’d recommend everyone to pass on listening to this. The summary/history contained inaccuracies. The interviewer was terrible, and asked mostly unhelpful questions. Nancy seemed to recognize the lack of interviewing skill, and as a result she was tentative in her responses. Like I say, pass on this, unless you like wasting your time. No new information here for the astute Heart fan.
Just a Little Mystery... on January 22nd, 2010
Oh, when you make snarky comments, its best to remain unknown, even if its true.
The night after reading your comments, I had the weirdest dream.
I was at a Heart concert. There were tons of people there. But then, as I was watching them play, they were in a grassy meadow, with trees behind them. There were lots of monarch butterflies flying around the band. Then, there was just one butterfly flying around. Nancy was trying get it to land on her guitar. She kept sticking the top of her guitar up into the air, but it wouldn’t land. Suddenly, I was Nancy. The butterfly landed on my arm, then it bit me! It felt like a bee sting. I slapped it, and it fell down into the grass. I cried, and asked why did it bite me?
Ann said, “stop being mean to it.” The butterfly, suddenly, was a Border Collie. It got up and ran scared into the woods. I ran after it because it was my dog. I kept yelling for my dog to come back, but it kept running. The dog ran into the river. He tried to swim back to me, but he couldn’t swim fast enough. The river was now the ocean. And the tide kept pulling my dog, farther and farther away. It was all my fault. I had hurt him and scared him into the water. I was so upset. Then I woke up.
It took a long time to get back asleep. I felt bad until a got fully awake in the morning.
Martin G. on January 25th, 2010
Thank you for your music in all these years! But it would be even greater to see you live in Germany. You could make lots of thousands of fans happy, if you would find your way to Europe again.

Well, after listening to Jupiter’s Darling, aside from a few songs..it sucks. As a long time Heart fan, who has not been thirlled with their attitudes and set list (NO BALLS, same songs…not nearly enough 80’s songs)..I am almost afraid to listen to it. Let’s not even get into Ann’s HORRIBLE solo album. WAKE UP GIRLS!!!! Play more 80’s songs live and some different 70’s songs. Co’mon how many tours in a row without Mistral Wind. All of this made drop out of their Fan Club and they really have to prove something for me to spend another $100 on ONE ticket. Just because they grew up worshiping Led Zep does not mena they had to become a Led Zep cover band. Not everyone loves Led Zep (I don’t). However, I love Heart but when I pay to see Heart I want to hear HEART SONGS. The 80’s SAVED their career, reward the fans for it by playing the songs that made you relevant again.
Heart WAS in my top five bands, but KISS will always be 1 because they CARE. Paul Stanley always says, “If you paid your hard earned money and a band does not give you what you deserve..call us.” Well, we’ll see if Heart can squeeze $100 let alone $15 ouit of my pocket.
WAKE UP GIRLS!!!! It sucks to write this.
TDHS on March 13th, 2010
It must indeed suck to open your rant with telling their album mainly sucked. Their setlist is well balanced these last years. They want to do it their way and if that means playing smaller venues because “fans” like you won’t come… so be it.

The hardest thing I’ve ever learned ?
The fact some bridges just won’t burn !
What’s the price of one bridge crossed ?
The times you pay for one bridge lost.
If love’s the bridge that you have torched,
You’ll find your soul forever scorched.
The hardest thing you’ll ever learn ?
To build a bridge, …where one has burned.

I found an strange poem on the web, that mentions a “red velvet car”:
The Tunnel Of Love
by Sander Roscoe Wolff ©
I met a woman at a traveling show
Who stood in line at the Tunnel of Love
Complaining:
“I don’t understand why its always my fate
That every boy I meet is a freak or a geek!
I’m not pretty, but I’m not plain…”
I swear I’d heard the same refrain
From someone I knew in a bad dream once.
“I’m not pretty, but I’m not plain,” she repeated,
Tapping her ash as we were seated,
“But love has, somehow, eluded me.”
The barker stepped forward, admonishing us:
“Keep all your limbs, heads, and tentacles inside the car!”
“My mommy told me I’d never go far
But here I am, with you, and that star
Flashing red and white in the painted sky
Tells me that tonight is different, tho I don’t know why.”
Then the car lurched forward through the heart-shaped doors
And shrieks and roars of lovers everywhere
Echoed in my brain, that same refrain,
That same refrain, the wolf-cry howl of
“Love me, embrace me, fill me, fulfill me!
Make me feel whole, or forget that I’m empty!”
Then our car in the tunnel derailed from its track
And I said, “we are stuck, we may never get back.”
So we made sweet freak love on the side of the road
And after, our red velvet car was towed.
In the cool evening air, as I watched her depart,
I knew she wouldn’t capture my heart
‘Cause, though she certainly wasn’t plain,
Her tentacle suckers were really a pain.

It’s very good to here clean versions of these new songs!
WTF sounds like it has some Who influence, especially at the end.
Hey You is a gentle style of music, but in contrast to the music, the lyrics are quite dark. There also seems to be some variation in the lyrics between this version and the bootleg You Tube recording. One line is, “Are you driven to your knees?” and an alternative is, “Did it bring you to your knees?” Are those attending the concerts noticing variations?
Heart songs seem to have variations, such as in Lost Angel, where its either “the willow is pushed to bend” or “the river is pushed to bend”. Are there any stories behind these variations?

I really hate when this happens. It’s not fair to the fans. I don’t want to have to buy multiple copies of the CD, or to just try and get the EuroCD. Just put all the tracks on every CD, or put out an EP with all the extra tracks!!!!
I never did get the extra tracks from Ann’s solo release or Jupiter’s Darling as I didn’t want to buy each more than once. It’s things like this that help promote file sharing and illegal downloading.

HER FLUTE PLAYING IS NICE TO HEAR ON THE EARLIER ALBUMS,[IT ALSO APPEARED ON” ALLIES” FROM 1983′S PASSIONWORKS AND THEN I NEVER HEARD ANY MORE FLUTES AFTER THAT? ANYWAY EITHER WAY,THE NEW CD SONGS POSTED SOUND REALLY GOOD! RAWK FOREWORD!
Snoqueen on July 9th, 2010
I’m testing! Great poster. I love the artwork on this album – it feels great!

Well I haven’t seen the new chart yet on that site, but sulacuda saw it when it as and Heart confirmed the news. In the menu you select AC and than AC home and AC chart.
ROBERT ABRAHAM on July 10th, 2010
hi i think IT’S THE RECORD COMPANY THAT ARE BEHIND THIS? IT APPEARS THAT THE ARTIST DOESN’T HAVE TOO MUCH SAY ONCE THE RECORD GETS INTO THEIR HANDS AND IT’S THEIR WAY TO MAKE MONEY SO YOU DO HAVE A POINT, I JUST THEY WOULD MAKE IT EASIER FOR FANS TO GET THOSE EXTRA TRACKS. ” I’M STILL TRYING TO GET ” HURRY UP HEALER” FROM THE LOVEMONGER’S WHILY GIG TOO, I REFUSE TO SPEND $30 FOR THE JAPANESE CD SO I JUST GAVE UP WITH THAT ONE.
THE 1980 GREATEST HITS ALSO HAD 3 TACKS CUT FROM IT WHEN IT WAS RELEASED ON TO CD{”HIT SINGLE-NOT A SONG BUT IT HAD THEIR SENSE OF HUMOUR AT THAT TIME] AND STRANGE EURPHORIA”
anyway maybe if WE KEEP BITCHING THEY MIGHT HEAR US! KEEP ROCKING FOREWORD!!!

Ictus75 on July 14th, 2010
Yes, I realize it is the various record companies doing this and not the band. But why do UK buyers get 2 more tracks than USA buyers? What makes them “special”? I’d feel the same way if the USA release had more tracks than other releases. It would be nice if there was 1 equal release for all.
Andrew on July 14th, 2010
Amazing! I saw yesterday that RVC was up 10,000% on the Movers and Shakers chart. That’s amazing. Got to hand it to Sony, they are really working the album. I wonder if Jupter’s Darling would have done better if they had a really strong push like this. I always thought I Need The Rain would have been a big hit on AC radio. Anyway, this is very “heartening”. Love to see Heart have a Gold or Platinum album at this stage of their career!
TDHS on July 14th, 2010
Well… now it needs to stay in the top by people finding out about them cos they see the release in the top 10. The facebook and BBS wave will flow over soon…

Hi I THINK HEART[OR THE RECORD COMPANY] IS SHARING WAY TOO MANY VIDEO/AUDIO CLIPS OF THE NEW CD[RED VELVET CAR] AND THE LENGTH OF THE REALEASE DATE WAS TOO LONG AHEAD,[IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN END OF THIS MONTH INSTEAD OF AUG.] ALL THESE CLIPS JUST TAKE AWAY THE MYSTERY TO THE WHOLE IDEA OF BUYING A ” NEW ALBUM!” I GUESS IT’S THE INTERNET AGE AND HOW THINGS ARE DONE NOW? I LIKE IT THE OLD WAY BETTER WHEN WE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT THE SONGS WERE OR SOUNDED LIKE AND THE ALBUM[CD] ART WORK/WORDS/BOOKLET, ALL ADDED TO THE EXCITMENT & SURPRISE OF BUYING THE NEW ALBUM! I FEEL LIKE I ALREADY KNOW MOST OF THE ALBUM 3 MONTHS BEFORE IT EVEN GOT HERE! I HOPE THERE ARE SOME SURPRISES LEFT WHEN IT COMES OUT? TOO BAD SO SAD!

I’m with both of you but I agree with Robert more. They should leave a little more mystery. And it does feel like we’ve been waiting forever for this album (I mean, like, the hype/buzz has lasted forever. Cause yeah, obvs we have been waiting 6 years)
And I know it will be worth the wait! I’m just sayin..
ps. I love Nancy in this vid ‘Enjoy yo dinnah’. haha its so funny to hear her get all ‘tude with us. Sexay ;) (and I am eating my dinner right now too. It’s damn good!)
chris on July 29th, 2010
Or wait, maybe she was giving us an English accent at the end there? w/e it was cute :)
Does Ann purposefully not speak alot in interviews to preserve her voice? Cause she always used to talk way more and Nancy was the more quiet one.
Andrew on July 29th, 2010
Love the galloping drums and the way the line “riding the wheels” is layered over itself. Love to hear this live…Saw the Casino Rama show in Toronto last week and I have to say WTF sounded spectacular live…right up there with Barracuda in live intensity! I’m really excited about this album!
ROBERT on July 29th, 2010
yeah i think ANN LEAVES THE TALKING TO NANCY FOR INTERVIEWS,IT APPEARS THEY WORKED OUT A METHOD THAT WORKS FOR THEM,UR RIGHT, TO PERSERVE HER VOICE FOR THE CONCERTS.NANCY SAYS FROM INTERVIEWS I’VE READ,ANN ALSO STAYS MUTE ON THE TOUR BUS ALMOST THE WHOLE TOUR[POOR ANN-HOPE SHE'S NOT LONELY AT THE BACK OF THE BUS?]PLUS THEIR OLDER NOW AND ANN STILL CAN SLICE GLASS WITH ALL THAT POWER!!! NANCY LOOKS SO COOL WEARING THAT LONG GREYISH MYLITARY JACKET THAT ALLOWS HER TO KICK OUT TO THE SIDES WHEN SHE ROCKS! “HANG ON TO YOUR DRAWERS-JUST 1 MORE MONTH TO GO!!!”
The Amazing Answer Man on July 30th, 2010
The Amazing Answer Man just can’t resist answering a question, or questioning an answer. The song “Hey You” asks some questions, so Amazing Answer Man has some answers. What can I say, other than, I’m Amazing!!!
1) Did I fumble with my keys? –Yes. In an emotional state of mind, I threw away my half of the key. (When you have only Hearts up your sleeve, can you, in playing Poker, bluff when you need the Ace of Clubs?)
2) Did I win the wanderlust? –No. (Where would I go, when I’m already home? I’ll just wait by the door, until someone turns the lock open.)
3) Am I tangled in the trees? –Maybe, but I’m certainly tangled in doubt. (By the way, the symphony is not gone. It just doesn’t know what to play.)
4) Did it bring me to my knees? –Yes, but I get up the best I can. (Are your knees sore, too?)
5) Have I had enough of you? –Never, but two worlds waiting waits forever. (But, what will you do with that “extra” day? And that’s the day that counts.)
—The Amazing Answer Man has done it, again! He knows all and answers all! (And he’s very modest.)

I am a music fan and collector. I buy things legit and honestly miss out on bonus stuff at times because it is out reach. I US version on average is $10. A “import” can easily start at $30 and up for even one bonus track. Japanese with “better sound” cds are way more. Why not make it available to all. Stop all the bs. Fans support who they love in this case I will support Heart…already preodered a cd, but will not buy multiple copies….this is why the music busines has failed…they screwed the people and the people stopped buying.

A Horse with No Name on August 11th, 2010
So, she wants to keep us guessing, eh?
Without help, I think only a few connected people will ever really know what ‘Hey You’ is about. There are too many possibilities. For example, I am confused about the intent of the word “still”, in the phrase “You are still about tomorrow”. Does it mean:
a. You are ‘quiet’ about tomorrow?; or
b. You ‘continue to think’ about tomorrow?.
And, what is “diamond dust”? Is it:
a. The iridescent twinkle of fresh snowflakes in the winter?; or
b. The glimmer of the infinitely scattered stars against the dark October sky?; or
c. The glittering grains of sand in the glare of the blazing desert sun?; or
d. The damp mist in the thin morning light?
As a piece of music, the song is quite fine. But the images lack the passion of personal detail and personal intent. We are abandoned, by the author, to the wilderness of guesses and unsureness. And, there is a danger the intended subject of the song, will also be abandoned to puzzlement and confusion. The title ‘Hey You’ is appropriate, as it is afraid to give a name to the nameless. And, it puts off that scary task, “until forever and a day run out of time”. (So afraid of one, who’s so afraid of you.) –Hmm… this album does bring you back to the very beginning. The circle is complete. The carrousel keeps turning, and you’ll ride the painted horse, forever.

Ann and Nancy:
I first saw you back in 1980 (I believe) at the Allentown Fairgrounds on the Bebe Le Strange tour. Ian Hunter was the opening act. I will never forget before the concert started Nancy came out for a quick sound-check and some inebriated fool yelled “Ian Hunter’s gonna rock your pants off!” Wrong!! You guys were the true headliners and I will also never forget Nancy soldiering on even though one of her strings on an acoustic guitar broke, never missing a beat!
I just saw you last night at Musikfest in Bethlehem. It was perhaps the best sounding concert I have ever attended and absolutely a truly rocking show! It was too bad that, in my opinion, the crowd was not even more enthusiatic than it was.
Thank you for “book-ending” my concert-going span of some three decades. Also, thank you for saving someone like me who grew up addicted to seventies greatness like Zeppelin and who is, and has been, dying for some real music instead of all the crap passed-off as “music” nowadays. I hope you return to Musikfest next year or perhaps Philly or Reading because I will defintely be there!!!

So does this mean that Heart has another top ten single under their belt? I’m still fuzzy on how the FMQB chart works?

I sure hope so… given that what I’ve heard (the 30-second samples) plus the full songs from the album and in concert – is amazing! I think this is the best Heart album since the 70s. I really hope this is a big hit for them!
Just Another Bad Poet on August 18th, 2010
She has bought what she’s been sold:
A molded plastic heaven.
Yet, still she hears a distant wind,
At quarter to eleven.
She knows this forest full of trees,
Once tender green in May.
Saddened by their lack of leaves,
November’s dreary day.
Feel the old, and feel the cold,
Be crowned the Queen of Snow.
Touch December’s shortest day,
And finally you shall know.
We all have made our choice of songs,
And you have made your own.
We cannot change, until we change,
And find our way back home.

So how many copies of RVC are we supposed to buy to collect all the tracks??? I really hate this sort of thing. Why can’t there be just one release everywhere? Besides frustration, this sort of thing promotes trading or illegal down loading of the extra tracks you can’t get in your country. Yes, you can find the Japanese version in the USA, but it will be $35-40 for a copy!
How about releasing an EP of all the assorted extra tracks so everybody can get them???
TDHS on August 21st, 2010
Collecting is fun! :)
And it´s been like this for a long time..
Brigade, Desire Walks On, The Road Home, Whirlygig, Jupiter´s Darling, Hope & Glory, Dreamboat Annie Live…. all with non US bonustracks!

Speaking of collecting… I just got my WTF+4 CD! I love it! The production on WTF and Sand is great..and Sand sounds incredible… I didn’t think it could be improved on but it is even more beautiful. ictus75 on August 22nd, 2010
I’ve been collecting for 35 years and have worked in the record industry. I don’t need to collect anymore and have multiple copies of new releases from every band. This just seems so unnecessary in the digital age.

I so hope this is true!!! Wouldn’t that just be fantastic???

Love this. They look great! Love Ann’s necklace…very awesome, indeed. My only gripe is: I tried to order the package and discovered Shop NBC doesn’t ship outside the US… I would love to buy this…I’m just across the border in Canada… c’mon Sony… get some international deals like this in the works!
Anyway, I smell a hit album. From what I’ve heard there are a bunch of singles on RVC (Wheels and Sunflower aside from WTF and Hey You would be very strong releases!).
Cheers,
A.

So you want people to be yes men for Ann and Nancy? If you don’t like the album just love it anyway? I think Craig Bartok is a sloppy guitarist and haven’t liked anything they have done since DWO. I listened to RVC today pre-release and to me every single song is a stinker. It is Jupiter’s Darling part 2 or “The Lovemongers” with electric guitars. They sound bored and tired on the entire thing. Ben Mink really made it worse because under sound analysis he once again mastered the tracks with horrible clipping just like he did with Ann’s solo album.
Yep you keep wishing the fans away TDHS and the rest of the “Heartmongers”. Pretty soon Heart will have to pay fans to listen to their music in the future. If fans don’t like the music for some reason it is wise to know why from a business standpoint.
TDHS on August 29th, 2010
I’m not gonna answer your questions as you and I both know the answers.
Your opinion of RVC is interesting though. The album can’t please everyone, but after having read your opinion, I’m sure that anything they’d put out would be classified a stinker by you. For the simple reason that you hate A&N, no matter what they do. I’m not only wishing you away, I’m practically advising you to stay away from the shows, their music and the websites. Why go through the pain? Why listen to their album and go to the trouble of posting your hatred here? You know what: don’t. Heart doesn’t need your business and I don’t need anyone’s business on this fansite.

Why would I hate Ann and Nancy? That is absurd. Just because I don’t like RVC, Jupiter’s Darling, or Private Audition doesn’t mean I hate the artist or the person. Please take your schizophrenic meds lol. I’ve met Ann a few times and she seemed like a nice lady. Go the Headwise forums and look under worst album clipping. Jupiter’s Darling was an extreme example of what not to do on post production.
You don’t like the album don’t come see Heart. This is exactly what comes from a few of the Heartmongers that go through this uber protective mode and chased away half their fanbase thinking they are protecting Ann and Nancy. Instead you are blocking fans that may not be as crazed as you appear to be.
TDHS on September 2nd, 2010
I honestly think you must hate Ann & Nancy when you say every song on their new album is a stinker and they sound bored and tired. Tell it to their face and we’ll talk again.
If pointing out your hateful words and giving you advice is suddenly being uber protective, than you have some screwed up values on what is civilized behavior and what is not. A&N don’t need protecting anyway. Every song a stinker… tsssk… saying I need meds…. calling me crazy…. that’s insulting to me and inconsiderate to people close to me. You could use some new manners.
I’m not blocking fans: as a matter of fact I’m helping with bringing Heart to the fans. Takes a lot of effort. However; if people don’t appreciate what I’m bringing, I’d rather have those people stay away from my site. Or at least stop using it for insults. They… YOU… take away from the fun I’m having. No need to apologize. You were probably raised this way.

THERE YOU GO AGAIN
Ooo-um
I get it darling you are getting cold
You had it steady it was on the road
You’re ridin’ so dirty, dirty and fast but
You’re goin’ three sixty right off of the track
There you go again
Out of the cave into the freezing flame
There you go again
There you go in the media, insane
Now is there anyway left to go
The highest highs, the lowest lows
A friend with a doctor, a friend with a gun
You got big trouble, you better run run run run
There you go again
Walkin’ straight into the freezing flame
There you go again
There you go in the media, insane
Tell me baby, how’s it gonna go
Who’s gonna show you the things you don’t know
Who’s gonna hush, who’s gonna hush your sweet mellow
Just keep your eyes on the flyin’ sky
You’re blind-sided, you’re hypnotized
Fast talkin’ and riding so high
But the gobblin’s gonna get you by and by and by and by
There you go again
Out of your cave into the freezing rain
There you go again
There you go in the media
There you go again
Out of your cave into the freezing rain
There you go again
In the flash of the media, insane
Oh-whoa

Don’t sit cryin’ in your room
Stealin’ candy from the jar
I will be there very soon
In my red velvet car
Maybe you got hit real hard
Maybe you are on the floor
People screamin’ out your name
‘Cause they don’t trust you anymore
I’m comin’ for you, I comin’ for you, I’m comin’ for you, I’m comin’
Oh yeah
I’m comin’ for you, I comin’ for you, I’m comin’ for you, yeah yeah

So pull your weary bones inside
You can sleep while I drive
Watch the moon out on the lake, I won’t even touch the brake

Yo-ho, yo-ho, gotta keep afloat
Crazy cradle in my leaky boat
Take me home
Home
Later on, I got around
Stories of the underground
In Queen City
Tales of love and squandering and
Tales of spirits wandering
In Queen City
Tumble, crawl, and reaching bold
Fill it till the glass is full
Standing, screaming, on a hill
Little creature loves me still
Yo-ho, yo-ho, gotta keep afloat
Crazy cradle in my leaky boat
Yo-ho, yo-ho, got to keep afloat
Crazy cradle in this leaky boat
Can you take me home
Take me, take me back home
Gotta keep afloat now
In my leaky boat, hmm

In Queen City
In my leaky boat
Queen City, yeah

In Queen City

You have kissed the face of sorrow
You have bought but you’ve been sold
But you still won’t buy tomorrow
You are one of a kind
You are some kind of fine

Until the darkness and the light decide to rhyme

Until forever and a day run out of time, hey
Swear by my September star

But the cards up in your sleeve

Until the darkness and the light decide to rhyme

Until forever and a day run out of time, hey

Chilly wind of wanderlust
I’ve been out here for so long
Chokin’ on the diamond dust
And the symphony is gone, gone, gone
Are you tangled in the trees
Did it bring you to you knees
Have you had enough of me
Hey you
Hey you
Hey you
Hey you

SAFRONIA’S MARK
Down the winding alley ways of Soto
Where the rain is painting down the streets
Where she’s walkin’ evey morning
I don’t know
Though her eyes are far away, she looks at you
Through her windows, darkness she don’t see
Secrets in her keeping, solitary
Just a fleeting glimpse like floating out to sea
Safronia’s marked, she took the sting
She’s fillin’ the colors in under her skin
Safronia’s heart with only one wing
How can she fly
How can she fly on a broken wing
That carries the stain of everything
Safronia’s soul is wandering
She just walks on by
Suddenly she’s standing there before you
Reaching out her arms just like a child
Her face is like a door you wanna walk on through
And somethin’ deep inside just might belong to you
Safronia’s mark, she took the sting
She’s fillin’ the colors in under her skin
Safronia’s heart with only one wing
How can she fly
How can she fly with a broken wing
That carries the stain of everything
Safronia’s soul is wandering
Walks on by
Hey, Safronia’s marked, she took the sting
She’s fillin’ the colors in underneath the skin
Safronia’s heart with only one wing
How can she fly
How can she fly with a broken wing
That carries the stain of everything
Safronia’s soul, oh yeah
She just walks on by
She just walks on by

DEATH VALLEY
I looked outside of my window
There was fear in the pit of my heart
There was desert as far as the eye could see
Blistering, dusty, and hard
I trusted you in desperation
I said heaven forbid this place
It’s hotter than hell and I’m loosing my cool
It’s just not in the human race
No, no
(Way down low)
Death Valley
(A thousand miles to go)
Ho-ooo
(Way down low)
Hey there Death Valley, yeah
(A thousand miles to go)
Ooo, what if the engine should break down
What if the tire should blow
What if my soul should slip off this bus
And land in the inferno
Tossing and tumbling onward
Watchin’ in vain for change
A windmill, a billboard, a Joshua Tree
A rusted old home on the range
Yeah
(Way down low)
Hey, hey, Death Valley, yeah
(A thousand miles to go)
Death Valley
(Way down low)
Hey, oh, oh, oh
(A thousand miles to go)
Slippery sand in the back of my throat, silica in my eyes
Pretty soon this will all be another bad dream if we make it
To the other side
If we make it
If we make it
Death Valley, yeah
(A thousand miles to go)
Aye-yeah Death Valley
(Way down low)
Death Valley
(A thousand miles to go)
Hey
(A thousand miles to go)
The human race
No
Hmm, none of the human race
Uh-yeah
I got slippery sand in the back of my throat
Silica in my eyes
Just another bad bad dream
If we make it to the other side

SUNFLOWER
Sunflower
Blooming in your finest hour
You have come into your power
And you spill it over me
Such petals
Standing shameless in the air
Catch the eyes of other lovers
With the colors that you wear
I have only seen you grow
From the seed I used to know
In the burning breath of summer
Gardens off to glow
Sunflower
Just the way you speak my name
I will never be the same
Oh yeah
Sunflower
Never steal your eyes away
Even when the seasons change
A little sun, a little rain
I have only seen you grow
From the seed I used to know
In the burning breath of summer
In the gardens off to glow
Sunflower
A little sun, a little rain
(Even when the seasons change)
Even when the seasons change
Sunflower
Even when the seasons change
A little sun, a little rain

SAND
I asked a distant star
I wonder where you are
The shadow at my door
A friend who is no more
I watched him go to the wind
I close my eyes
Goodbye, goodbye my friend
Friends and family
The branches of the tree
Sheltered in the rain
Telling me again
No matter how raindrops run
World will ture
Turn back to the sun
Yeah, yeah
A trick of light upon our eyes
A trick of time upon our lives
Ancient songs cry out to you
Surely this sweet sand is slipping through
I watched him go to the wind
I close my eyes
Goodbye, goodbye my friend yeah
A trick of light upon our eyes
A trick of time upon our lives
Ancient songs cry out to you
And surely this sweet sand is slipping through
Slipping through the glass of time
Surely this sweet sand will run on by and by
And while the days come down to you
You are just a traveler passing through, yeah
Yeah

IN THE COOL
I’m not a hero
Not a saint
I’m just a fever tryin’ to cool it
Through the bedlam days
I’m not leadin’
Or mis-led
I’m just tumblin’ through the sun
Heals over head
But in the cool there’s a place
I’d lay away the day
And forsake all the hours unkind
When the moon melts the sun
Take my dreams and let ‘em run
And roll all this heartache down to none
Road I travel
High and low
People shake their heads and wonder
If that’s the way I go
And I’ve been fighting
And I am sore
I’m just an accidential soldier
In a private war
But in the cool there’s a place
I’d lay away the day
And forsake all the hours unkind
When the moon melts the sun
Take my dreams and let ‘em run
And roll all this trouble down to none
Yeah, when the moon melts the sun
Take my dreams and let me run
And roll all this trouble down to none
Yeah, yeah, yeah

To my ears it is a stinker and Jupiter’s Darling Part 2. If people don’t like JD they probably won’t like this either. I don’t hate Ann and Nancy again that is absurd and you are becoming extremely irrational. The album to me does sound like they were bored and tired.
This still doesn’t mean I “hate” Ann and Nancy as I have all their albums even the ones I don’t really care all that much to listen to. They haven’t personally bit me or anything.
Right you are helping spread the word. The above poster said he/she didn’t care much for JD and you basically said don’t come see them
“They want to do it their way and if that means playing smaller venues because “fans” like you won’t come… so be it.”
This taken from your own words. Right love every single thing they have done over the years or you are not a super fan like I. The elitist few Heartmongers that chase members from their fanbase over and over for the last 15 years.
You are still saying I hate A and N and that is irrational and weird to me. If A and N asked how I liked the album I would be honest and tell them it does not appeal to me and go song by song and let them know what I as a fan do not like. Of course they can put out whatever they want.
My top Heart albums are Dreamboat Annie, DWO, LQ, Brigade in that order.
What I don’t like are Private Audition, JD, RVC, Lovemongers Stuff (Depends if one calls the Lovemongers Heart) Solo album
They’ve actually done quite well because they have put out a lot of albums that appeals to me as a fan and not many bands do that. But, right I am not fan enough lol. Keep on friend I hate what I like lol. A lot of the problems I have with JD and RVC is that I do not like the post production clipping or Bartok’s guitar style. The songs at the base are good but, gets drowned out by production clipping and buried under Bartok’s terrible guitar playing.

hi it’s a good idea for them to just release ALL FORMATS BECAUSE I DO BUY BOTH THE CD AND VINYL IF IT’S RELEASED THAT WAY.[ I BAUGHT DESIRE WALKS ON BOTH CD/VINYL WHEN IT CAME OUT] IT’S JUST THE IDEA BEHIND IT I THINK? IT REMINDS YOU OF THE FORMER TIMES WHEN WE USE TO WAIT TO SEE WHAT TO FIND ON THE INSIDE[WRITTEN SONGS/EXTRA PICTURES/COLOR VINYL,] THE MYSTERY & SURPRISED ELEMENT OF IT THAST MADE IT FUN & EXCITING!!
KEEP ROCKING!

They should just release THEIR ALBUMS ON all FORMATS AT THE SAME TIME?,[I BAUGHT DESIRE WALKS ON ON CD & VINYL WHEN IT CAME OUT] I LIKE THE IDEA BEHIND LPS, IT REMINDS ME OF FORMER TIMES WHEN WAITING FOR THEM TO COME OUT,OPENING THEM UP TO SEE WHAT TO FIND ON THE INSIDE?[EXTRA PHOTOS,WRITTEN SONGS,COLOR VINYL,THE PICTURES ARE BIGGER!] IT’S THE MYSTERY & SURPRISE ELEMENT BEHIND THE CONCEPT OF IT THAT MADE IT SO MUCH MORE FUN & EXCITING TO BUY THE NEW ALBUMS.
